RELAMPEIO International Literary Festival was organised during the pandemic as a way to have live interviews with international fantasy, science fiction, and horror authors on YouTube.
I led a team of 10 people who translated the interviews from English or Spanish to Portuguese directly on the live chat, so that we could reach the largest possible group of viewers. In our last edition, in 2022, we also used sign language interpreters to expand this mission even further.
We interviewed big names like Neil Clark (of Clarkesworld magazine), Thomas Olde Heuvelt (Nebula Award Winner), Ann VanderMeer, Kim Stanley Robinson, and Charlie Jane Anders. We even managed to talk to Brandon Sanderson! (His interview was not live, Brandon was very busy.)
